discontinued teas

We are discontinuing all teas from one of our suppliers in response to ongoing inventory issues with this supplier. Some customer favorites will be discontinued as well as some of the less known ones. This includes much of our fruit tea line and all of our ayurvedic tea line as well as some black teas, green teas, white teas, and rooibos teas. In all, about 25 products are being cut.

We regret having to do this, but lack of inventory is our number one customer complaint, and we must take drastic steps to remedy the situation.

Best sellers list is now dynamic

Our list of best selling items is now dynamically generated. Before we manually updated the list on a periodic basis. To make the list more relevant and timely to customers as well as us, we are now automatically updating the list on a nightly basis. The list reflects items sold over the last 30 days and only shows the top 25.

New inventory tracking system released

A new inventory tracking system that has been in the works for years has now been released. Most of it is behind the scenes, but you will notice that the larger sizes for various teas go out of stock before the whole product goes out of stock. For instance, the 4 lb size may be sold out but the 2 lb and smaller sizes remain in stock.

This should address some of the problems with people ordering and getting shorted on their order due to insufficient stock. Other parts of the system that are not so obvious will help keep products sufficiently stocked so we don't have the problem to begin with.

Wholesale and retail inventory have now been separated as well. Wholesale growth has been hard to manage without impacting the retail side of the business. In reality, they have separate needs and separate growth curves, so we are physically separating the two. This means a product may be sold out on the wholesale website, but available on the retail site.

More versions to come as we focus entirely on inventory this year.

Coffee line discontinued

Effective immediately, our line of green and roasted coffees is now discontinued. Coffee didn't mesh with our brand very well and sales were minimal. Cutting coffee from our line of products will help us reduce expenses and focus on what we do best, tea.
